Morning car drop-off

Student safety is our top priority. When dropping off or picking up your child, please follow the traffic flow in the parking lot and watch out for the crosswalk and stop signs.

To keep the line moving safely and smoothly, please follow these rules:

  • One-way, single lane: The drop-off area is a one-way traffic lane. Drive toward the front of the building in a single line and pull all the way past the main entrance so as many cars as possible can fit behind you.
  • Watch your speed: Drive at a safe, slow speed and follow all posted signs.
  • Stay by the curb: Keep your vehicle next to the sidewalk. Drivers must stay inside the vehicle at all times.
  • Be ready to exit: Make sure your child is ready to get out of the car immediately on the curbside. Backpacks should be at their feet, not in the trunk.
  • Drop off early: You can drop your child off anywhere between the posted signs in front of the building. Please do not wait until you reach the main entrance doors to let your child out.
  • Do not pass: After your child gets out, stay along the curb and move forward only when the car in front of you moves. Please do not pull out and pass other vehicles.

Important Note for Late Arrivals: If you arrive after 7:45 a.m., you must park your vehicle in a parking spot and walk your child inside to the main office. An adult must sign the student in for the tardy to be considered excused.

Afternoon parent pick-up

We strongly encourage parents to let their children ride the bus home. If you need to pick up your child on a regular basis, please follow these guidelines:

  • Parents must pick up their children promptly at 2:25 p.m.
  • Afternoon pickup happens in front of the school, using the same line as morning drop-off.
  • Children are never allowed to wait unsupervised on the playground or anywhere else on school grounds.
  • Make your pickup arrangements early, and talk about the plan with your child in the morning before they leave for school so they know exactly what to expect.

Walking and biking

Students are considered walkers or bike riders if they travel the whole distance between home and school on foot or by bicycle.

To keep your child safe, please follow these guidelines:

  • Permission form required: Parents or guardians must submit a permission form before a student can walk or bike to school. Please complete this Google Form to grant permission.
  • Arrival time: Students should not arrive at school before 7:30 a.m.
  • Safety rules: Walkers and bikers must follow the rules of the road and wear protective safety gear, like helmets.
  • Locking up bikes: Each student is responsible for the safety of their own bicycle. As soon as students arrive at school, they must lock their bikes in the provided bike racks.
  • Entering the building: All walkers and bikers must enter the school through the front doors only.

Important Crossing Note: Students are never allowed to cross Vicksburg Lane without being accompanied by an adult.
